Edyt is a National Science Foundation startup currently deploying its product, TeamPatent, at the European Patent Organization. TeamPatent is an examination workbench, allowing really smart (and friendly) knowledge workers to review forms and freeform documents, search for prior art, progress cases through complex workflows, and detail a grant/refuse decision with a mixture of forms and freeform analysis. TeamPatent is a semantically aware, real-time collaborative platform and collection of tools addressing the heart of what has heretofore been one of the more complex paper-based process in the world. We're in the process of moving to new digs in Downtown Oakland, directly adjacent BART 19th St. station (for SF folks, there's a 12 min train from Embarcadero station running every 7 min).
