OpenOakland

OpenOakland works to improve the lives of Oaklanders by advancing civic innovation and open government through community partnerships, engaged volunteers and civic technology. We create digital tools to increase access to public information, to help Oaklanders engage more effectively with local government and with each other. We do this through providing a low-risk setting for governments to innovate- through hosting proof of concept experiments (both high and low tech). This approach allows us to fail gently and learn in the process, disseminating these learnings to government and others seeking change in local government.
