WYV -women, fashion, events, community. WYV, borne out of a desire to redesign the way women are represented in media. Something needed to change, so I took a classic glossy fashion magazine, updated the conversation and gave it a 2014 makeover - real women, real conversation and real & available fashion. I kept it real by keeping it local. Oakland, a hive of creative energy of people wearing their voice. These people inspired me; I feel confident knowing that standing up and making a difference for the higher good of all will bring miraculous results. The beauty of my magazine is the writers and their conversation, all local with a love for Oakland. They too believe as do I - Oakland is a calling. As I perfect WYV-Oakland I will take this framework & apply it to another city. As WYV unfolds it will become a movement and #wearyourvoice, will be on the tip of peoples tongues as I strive to empower people to be who they are, own it, take responsibility for it and Wear Your Voice.
